Field trips and in-plant training take students out of the classroom and onto live sites — manufacturing plants, construction towers, prototyping centres and testing laboratories.
T-Works — prototyping centre visit
HITS students at T-Works
On 9 and 10 August 2024, third-year and final-year engineering students visited T-Works, one of the largest prototyping centres of its kind. The visit opened an ongoing collaboration offering further internships and opportunities.
Touring the fabrication floor
Students explored PCB fabrication, embedded systems, 3D printing, welding, moulding and cutting sections, gaining a practical view of how an idea becomes a business-ready prototype.
Maruti Suzuki — mechanical engineering
Hands-on session at Maruti Suzuki
Mechanical engineering students visited the Maruti Suzuki service centre at Uppal for hands-on exposure to vehicle systems, servicing procedures and workshop practice.

Chettinad Cements — Technical VAN workshop
The Chettinad Cements Technical VAN on campus, August 2025.
On 4 August 2025 HITS hosted Chettinad Cements, Telangana, for a Technical VAN event — the first of its kind — which brought the entire cement manufacturing process directly onto campus for civil engineering students. The workshop covered raw material sourcing, crushing and grinding, the kiln process (clinkerization), grinding and blending, and quality control and testing. The institute thanks Mr. Mavul Rao, AGM, and Mr. Pritvi Chauhan, Technical Officer, for the session.
Civil engineering site visits
EKA ONE, Raichandani
22 civil engineering students visited this 43-floor duplex residential tower, studying structural design and environmental considerations on a live high-rise site.
Raichandani Villas, Shamirpet
46 civil engineering students visited in December 2023 for site exposure across structural and environmental aspects of the project.
