UGC 2(f) & 12(B) Recognition
The institute is UGC-recognised under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.
The two sections do different things
Section 2(f) recognition establishes that the institution is a college within the meaning of the UGC Act, and is the basis on which the Commission maintains it on its register. Section 12(B) recognition additionally makes an institution eligible to receive central assistance and grants from the UGC and from other central government bodies, and is granted only after the Commission is satisfied as to the institution’s standards of teaching, infrastructure and governance.
Together with AICTE approval, permanent affiliation to JNTUH, NAAC accreditation and UGC Autonomous status, these recognitions form the regulatory foundation on which the institute’s degrees, funding eligibility and academic autonomy rest.
